relationship therapy
for monogamous and non-monogamous couples and polycules
about you
your relationship is not ending but it’s not feeling as good as you hoped. It’s somewhere in between. Your struggles might look like:
you want to please your partner but you’re doing it at the expense of yourself
you’re holding resentment and you’re not sure what to do with it
you have different levels of desire and it’s creating tension between you and your partner/s
you used to be sexually intimate and now you’re worried it’s been “too long”
you’ve opened up your relationship and it’s creating a lot of wounds
your partner shared they’re polyamorous but you’re not
about me
Hi! I’m Michelle (she/her) and I’m a clinician-in-training who loves working with couples (and couples in my work can mean more than two people). I got into relationship work because I’ve been on the other side of the couch (or, rather, screen) of couples therapy.
Bringing intimate partner/s into a therapeutic space can be so anxiety-inducing. But it doesn’t have to be that way! So often couples therapy is perceived as a final attempt or a threat that someone needs to change or else. But what if it was viewed differently? Couples therapy can be a space to attend to your relationship. Just like going for a run or doing yoga is when you care for your body, therapy is caring for your relationship.
The space I want to create is one of safety and comfort where you and your partner/s can express what’s weighing you down without judgment or hostility. My goal is that you and your partner/s find warm, kind curiosity towards one another (on your terms, not mine) so you can live in a secure relationship filled with joy and compassion.
Relationship Group Therapy
Learn how to create meaningful sexual connections with your partner/s in the power and safety of community
What we’ll talk about:
If sex matters, why does it matter?
Desire is nice, but pleasure is the measure
Unlearn harmful narratives
Learn communication tools
And more!
This group will be loosely structured around Emily Nagoski’s recent book Come Together
Reading the book is not required, but it can deepen your theraputic experience if you choose to
This group is for couples and polycules. This group is for at least two people. There will be some exercises that will be best with your partner/s. If you’re in a polycule, does every person need to come? I’ll leave that up to you.
